Arthritis & Joint Pain

Arthritis & Joint Pain
Arthritis causes stiffness, swelling, and pain in the joints—commonly in the knees, hands, or hips. From a TCM perspective, arthritis is often due to the invasion of “Wind, Cold, or Dampness” that blocks energy flow through the meridians. This imbalance leads to inflammation and discomfort.

Acupuncture stimulates blood circulation around affected joints, reduces inflammation, and promotes the body’s natural production of endorphins—its own painkillers. It also helps strengthen the immune system and maintain flexibility in the joints. Moxibustion therapy (using gentle heat from burning herbs) can be used together with acupuncture to warm the meridians and drive away “cold” or “damp” that cause stiffness. Cupping or Tui Na massage may also be added to loosen the surrounding tissues. Over time, regular treatments reduce swelling, improve movement, and enhance daily comfort. Many patients appreciate that acupuncture provides natural relief without the side effects of pain medications.
