Physiotherapy Clinic in Dubai

Whether you are recovering from a sports injury, an operation, or a long-standing problem that limits how you move, good physiotherapy can make the difference between managing and truly getting better. At Yuan Qi Acupuncture Center in Business Bay, our physiotherapy is hands-on and practical, focused on finding what is actually causing your pain or restriction and helping you rebuild strength, movement and confidence. Our physiotherapist, Dr. SuryaLakshmi, works with each person individually to build a plan around their goals.

Rather than only easing pain in the moment, physiotherapy looks at how you move, where you are weak or stiff, and what may be driving the problem, then works to address it. By assessing your movement, posture and strength, we aim to treat the cause, not just the symptom, so you get lasting improvement and a lower chance of the problem returning.

Understanding the approach

What does physiotherapy involve?

Physiotherapy at the clinic combines hands-on treatment with guided exercise, tailored to your condition. After a thorough assessment, your plan may include manual therapy to ease stiff joints and tight muscles, targeted stretching to restore flexibility, and a progressive strengthening programme to rebuild stability and support. Just as importantly, we teach you how to move well and look after the area yourself, so the gains hold once your course is finished.

Where it helps, we may combine physiotherapy with complementary therapies offered at the clinic, such as medical acupuncture, dry needling or cupping, to ease muscle tension and support recovery. Dr. SuryaLakshmi is certified in clinical dry needling, which can be a useful part of treatment for stubborn muscular pain and trigger points.

Working together

A combined approach to recovery

One of the advantages of having physiotherapy here is that it sits alongside our Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments under one roof. For many people, the combination of hands-on physiotherapy with acupuncture or cupping gives well-rounded support for recovery: physiotherapy rebuilds strength and movement, while the complementary therapies help ease pain and tension along the way.

Every plan is built around you and your goals, whether that is returning to sport, getting back to work comfortably, or simply moving through daily life without pain. We keep our advice practical and realistic, and we focus on giving you the tools to stay well, not just feel better for a day.

Your first visit

What to expect at your first visit

Your first visit begins with a detailed assessment. We ask about your problem, how it started, what makes it better or worse, your activity and your goals, and we assess how you move, your posture, strength and range of movement. This tells us what is driving the problem and lets us build a treatment plan suited to you. We then begin treatment and explain the plan and what to expect.

Physiotherapy is active, so as well as hands-on treatment in the clinic, you will usually be given a few simple exercises to do at home, which make a real difference to how quickly you progress. We explain everything clearly, adjust the plan as you improve, and give you a realistic idea of how many sessions your recovery is likely to need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Physiotherapy is a hands-on, movement-based form of treatment that helps with pain, injury and mobility. It combines manual therapy and guided exercise to restore strength and movement, and aims to treat the cause of a problem rather than just easing the symptom.

Physiotherapy can help with sports injuries, back, neck and shoulder pain, joint pain and stiffness, recovery after surgery, posture-related pain, and reduced mobility. We assess your individual problem and build a plan around it.

Our physiotherapist is Dr. SuryaLakshmi, who is also certified in clinical dry needling. She works with each person individually to build a treatment plan around their condition and goals.

No referral is needed. You can book a physiotherapy assessment directly by phone, WhatsApp or through our website.

We take a detailed history of your problem and goals, and assess how you move, your posture, strength and range of movement. This shows us what is driving the issue, and we then begin treatment and explain your plan.

Yes. Physiotherapy is active, so alongside hands-on treatment in the clinic, you will usually be given a few simple home exercises. These make a real difference to how quickly you recover.

It depends on your problem and how long you have had it. Recent injuries may settle in a few sessions; longer-standing or post-surgery rehabilitation usually needs a longer course. We give you a realistic plan after your assessment.

Treatment should not be painful, though some hands-on techniques and exercises can feel challenging as you rebuild strength and movement. We always work within what is comfortable for you and adjust as needed.

Yes. Sports injuries, strains and sprains are commonly treated with physiotherapy, helping you recover and return to activity safely while reducing the chance of re-injury.

Where it helps, we may combine physiotherapy with complementary therapies offered at the clinic, such as medical acupuncture, dry needling or cupping, to ease tension and support recovery, all under one roof.

Dry needling uses fine needles to release tight muscle and trigger points. Our physiotherapist Dr. SuryaLakshmi is certified in clinical dry needling, and it can be a useful part of treatment for stubborn muscular pain.

Yes. Physiotherapy can help with joint pain and stiffness, including the knee and hip, by improving movement, strength and support around the joint. For arthritis-related joint pain, see our arthritis page too.

Physiotherapy suits a wide range of musculoskeletal and movement problems and ages. The best way to find out is a proper assessment, where we can tell you how we can help and what your plan would involve.

Plan for around 45 minutes to an hour for a first visit, including the assessment. Follow-up sessions are usually a little shorter and combine hands-on treatment with guided exercise.

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, and bring any relevant scans or reports if you have them. It also helps to think about your goals, such as returning to a sport or activity.

Yes. A common goal is a safe return to sport, exercise or daily activity. We build your plan around that goal, rebuilding strength and movement and guiding your return so you reduce the risk of re-injury.
