Acupuncture for Menopause Support in Dubai

Menopause is a natural stage of life, but the symptoms can be anything but easy to live with. Hot flushes that arrive without warning, night sweats that wreck your sleep, mood swings, anxiety, fatigue and brain fog can make everyday life feel like a struggle. At Yuan Qi Acupuncture Center in Business Bay, we use acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine to help ease the symptoms of menopause and support your wellbeing through this transition, working alongside the care of your doctor.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, menopause is not seen as an illness but as a natural change in the body's internal balance, often described as a shift in Yin and Yang that can allow heat to rise, giving symptoms such as hot flushes. Rather than focusing on any single symptom, treatment takes a whole-body view, including sleep, mood and stress. Acupuncture aims to support the body's balance and help calm and ease the symptoms you are experiencing.

Understanding the approach

How can acupuncture help menopause symptoms?

Acupuncture is used to help ease common menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes and poor sleep, by calming the nervous system, supporting better sleep and helping the body feel more settled and balanced. Many women find acupuncture a welcome, drug-free form of support during menopause, particularly for hot flushes and the broken sleep that comes with night sweats. Because mood and stress are so affected during this time, the calming side of treatment is an important part of how it helps.

Many women notice their symptoms ease and their sleep and mood improve over a course of treatment, which can make the whole transition feel more manageable. We are realistic that responses vary from person to person, and we focus on easing your symptoms and supporting your wellbeing as gentle, whole-body care alongside your medical care.

One sensible, caring note: menopause care is worth discussing with your doctor, who can talk through all your options, including HRT, and keep an eye on longer-term aspects of your health such as your bones and heart. Acupuncture is supportive care that can help ease symptoms alongside whatever path you and your doctor choose, and it is not a replacement for medical advice or treatment.

What we help with

Menopause symptoms we can help ease

Menopause affects women in different ways. As supportive care, alongside your medical care, acupuncture may help ease:

  • 1Hot flushes and night sweats
  • 2Disrupted sleep and insomnia
  • 3Mood swings, irritability and anxiety
  • 4Fatigue and low energy
  • 5Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
  • 6The general sense of feeling unlike yourself during the transition

A gentle, combined approach

For menopause support we often complement acupuncture with gentle supporting therapies, guided by the assessment:

  • 1Chinese herbal medicine, where suitable, prescribed after a proper assessment to support your wellbeing.
  • 2Treatment aimed at sleep, since night sweats and insomnia so often go together.
  • 3Treatment aimed at stress and mood, which are so often affected during menopause.

If your symptoms are part of a wider hormonal picture, we look at hormonal wellbeing more broadly on a dedicated page and can take a joined-up view. We keep the approach gentle and realistic, focused on helping you feel more comfortable and like yourself through the transition, alongside your medical care.

Your first visit

What to expect at your first visit

Your first visit begins with an unhurried consultation. We ask about your symptoms, how they affect your sleep, mood and daily life, where you are in the menopause transition, and your medical history, including any treatment such as HRT you are having. In keeping with Chinese medicine we usually check your tongue and pulse too. We then plan gentle, supportive treatment suited to you.

The needles are very fine, far thinner than the needles used for injections, and most people feel little more than a small pinch. The session is generally very relaxing, and you rest with the needles in place for around twenty to thirty minutes. Afterwards we explain what we found and suggest a realistic schedule, since support for menopause symptoms usually builds over a steady course of sessions.

Many women find acupuncture a welcome, drug-free form of support for hot flushes and night sweats, and for the broken sleep that night sweats cause. We frame this as easing symptoms and supporting wellbeing rather than controlling body temperature.

We do not position acupuncture as an alternative to HRT. It is supportive care for symptoms that you may choose alongside, or instead of, other options, guided by your doctor. Please discuss HRT and your options with your doctor.

We do not claim acupuncture regulates hormones. Its role is to help ease symptoms and support your wellbeing during the transition. For hormonal wellbeing more broadly, see our hormonal imbalance page and your doctor.
